Cancellation Policy – Darjeeling Sikkim Taxi
At Darjeeling Sikkim Taxi, we strive to make your travel experience as smooth and flexible as possible. We understand that plans can change due to unforeseen circumstances. This Cancellation Policy explains how cancellations are handled, what charges may apply, and how refunds or credits are processed for taxi and tour bookings.
By making a booking with us, you agree to abide by this Cancellation Policy.
1. General Cancellation Terms
Cancellation requests must be made in writing via email, WhatsApp, or through our website contact form.
The cancellation time is calculated based on the date and time of departure as per your confirmed booking.
Cancellation charges and refund eligibility differ based on service type (taxi, outstation transfers, tour packages, permits, etc.).
2. Taxi & Transfer Cancellation Charges
| Cancellation Time Before Pickup | Charges / Refund |
|---|---|
| More than 72 hours | 10% cancellation fee |
| 48–72 hours | 50% cancellation fee |
| Less than 48 hours | 100% cancellation charge (No refund) |
| No show | 100% cancellation charge |
Notes:
Charges are calculated on the total booking amount (including taxes).
If payment hasn’t been made in advance, cancellation fees will still apply.
3. Tour Package Cancellation Charges
Because tour packages often involve third-party bookings (hotels, permits, sightseeing fees), cancellation charges may vary.
Tour Package Cancellation Rules
✔ More than 7 days before tour start date
→ 25% cancellation charge
✔ 3 to 7 days before tour start date
→ 50% cancellation charge
✔ Less than 3 days before tour start date
→ 100% cancellation charge (No refund)
Some hotel/taxi partners and permit providers may have stricter refund rules. In such cases, the respective partner policy will apply, and the amount non-refundable by them will be deducted before refunding the customer.
4. Permit-Based Tours (e.g., North Sikkim + Restricted Areas)
Certain destinations like:
North Sikkim (Lachen, Lachung, Yumthang, Gurudongmar)
Nathula Pass
Tsomgo Lake
Other restricted/permit-required areas
require official permits that are often non-refundable once issued by government authorities.
If permits cannot be canceled or refunded by the issuing authority, those charges will be deducted from your refundable amount.
5. Rescheduling Bookings
Rescheduling is possible under the following terms:
✔ Must be requested at least 48 hours before departure.
✔ Subject to vehicle/driver availability.
✔ Any price difference due to date/season change must be paid by the customer.
✔ Rescheduling requests made less than 48 hours before departure will be treated as a cancellation and charges will apply.
6. Company-Initiated Cancellation
Darjeeling Sikkim Taxi may cancel a booking due to:
Unavailability of vehicles/drivers
Vehicle breakdown
Road closures or permits issues
Force majeure events (natural disasters, political restrictions, weather)
In such cases:
✔ Customers will be offered a full refund, or
✔ A rescheduled booking at no additional charge.
7. How Refunds Are Processed
✔ Refunds are issued to the original payment method.
✔ Refund processing may take 7–14 working days depending on the bank/payment provider.
✔ Payment gateway charges may be deducted from the refund amount if applicable.
8. Important Conditions
Once a vehicle has started the journey, or service has begun, no refund will be issued for unused portions of the booking.
Cancellation charges are calculated based on the original booking amount (GST inclusive).
Early checkout/shortened itinerary refunds are evaluated case-by-case.
Darjeeling Sikkim Taxi reserves the right to modify this policy at any time; the latest version will always be posted here.
