- Permits — Yumthang is north of Chungthang. PAP is tied to a registered Sikkim SUV and dated hotels.
- Time — IXB to Lachung already fills a day. Yumthang is another climb.
- Altitude — plains to ~12,000 ft in one push is how guests get sick.
- Daylight — the valley road is not a midnight run.
- Zero Point — if you add it, the day starts from Lachung, not from the airport.

Permits for Yumthang
- Indians: ID at Rangpo + PAP for Lachung / Yumthang / Zero Point.
- Foreigners: RAP for Sikkim + PAP for this circuit. Yumthang is generally allowed; Gurudongmar is not.
- Papers match hotel dates and vehicle number.
- Send ID scans 24 hours before the Gangtok–Lachung run.
Zero Point can be shut by weather or local orders even when Yumthang is open. We confirm the night before.

Keep the same car for Yumthang. A second random jeep in Lachung may not be on your permit.
