Sikkim Travels | Trusted Sikkim Tour Operator & Cab Packages

Home > Sikkim Travels

Sikkim travels work best with one local operator for the airport run, the hill roads, and the permits. Tour Adviser is a GST-registered tour operator with its own fleet and a North Bengal office. Darjeeling Sikkim Taxi is our transport division, so Gangtok, North Sikkim, Pelling, and Darjeeling connections stay on the same booking.

We plan private Sikkim tour packages for families, couples, and small groups. You get a hill driver, a fixed vehicle, and a route that matches the days you actually have—not a shared jeep that leaves when it is full.

Why Book Sikkim Travels with Tour Adviser

  • Own fleet. Sedans, Innova and other SUVs, and group vehicles maintained for mountain roads.
  • Local office and drivers. Routes through Rangpo, Gangtok, Ravangla, Pelling, Lachen, and Lachung are daily work, not a one-off hire.
  • GST-registered company. Invoices in the name of Tour Adviser.
  • Certified under NIDHI, Government of India, as stated by the company.
  • Permit-aware planning. North Sikkim (Lachen, Lachung, Yumthang) and Nathula need the right paperwork and a permitted vehicle. We tell you what to carry before you travel.
  • One desk for the whole trip. Bagdogra or NJP pickup, Gangtok sightseeing, North Sikkim, Pelling, and a Darjeeling add-on if you want both states.

Best months are October–November and March–May. December–February is cold but clear in many valleys; high passes can close after snow. June–September is monsoon. Landslides on NH10 and the North Sikkim road are possible, so we re-route only when the road is actually open.

Carry a government photo ID for every guest. Foreign nationals cannot visit Nathula or the usual North Sikkim circuit; Indian domestic tourists should apply for those permits in advance. We guide the process. We do not promise a pass that the administration has closed for the day.

Popular Sikkim Travels Itineraries

3 Nights / 4 Days — Gangtok and East Sikkim

Day 1: IXB or NJP to Gangtok.

Day 2: Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir (Nathula if open and permitted).

Day 3: Gangtok local sightseeing.

Day 4: Drop to airport, NJP, or Darjeeling.

5 Nights / 6 Days — Gangtok and North Sikkim

Two nights Gangtok, then Lachen and Lachung with Yumthang Valley, back to Gangtok or straight to NJP/IXB. This is the right length if North Sikkim is the reason for the trip. A 3-night plan is too short for Lachen and Lachung.

4 Nights / 5 Days — Gangtok and Pelling

Gangtok, a Tsomgo day, then West Sikkim for Kanchenjunga views from Pelling. Add Ravangla if you prefer a slower drive over a long single hop.

Sikkim + Darjeeling

Start or end in Darjeeling (Tiger Hill, tea gardens) and use the rest of the nights in Gangtok or Pelling. Same fleet, one WhatsApp thread.

What to Expect on the Road

  • Bagdogra / NJP to Gangtok is about 120–125 km and usually 5 to 6 hours. A lunch stop at Teesta is normal.
  • Gangtok to Lachung is a full travel day. Do not plan Yumthang on the same day you leave the plains.
  • Nathula is not a guaranteed add-on. Weather, the Indian Army, and permit slots decide if the convoy runs.
  • AC is often switched off on steep climbs so the car keeps power.
  • Monument tickets, lake fees, and permit charges are extra unless your quote lists them.

How Sikkim Booking Works

  1. WhatsApp your dates, city of arrival (IXB, NJP, or Darjeeling), guest count, and must-see places (Tsomgo, Nathula, Yumthang, Pelling).
  2. We reply with nights, a vehicle option, and a fixed starting fare.
  3. You confirm hotels (yours or ones we suggest) and permit names exactly as on the ID.
  4. Driver details arrive before pickup. North Sikkim departures are early; we will tell you the time the evening before.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who runs this Sikkim travel service?

Tour Adviser, through its hill brand Darjeeling Sikkim Taxi. We are a GST-registered tour operator with our own vehicles, not an app cab.

Can foreign tourists do North Sikkim or Nathula?

No. Those restricted areas are for Indian nationals with valid permits. Foreign guests can still do Gangtok, Pelling, Ravangla, Namchi, and most of South and West Sikkim.

Is a 4-day Sikkim trip enough?

Enough for Gangtok plus Tsomgo Lake. It is not enough for Lachen, Lachung, and Yumthang. Keep at least 5 nights if North Sikkim is included.

Do you only provide a taxi?

You can book a point-to-point cab, or a full Sikkim travels plan with sightseeing days and permits. The vehicle and the itinerary come from the same office.

Do you provide GST invoices?

Yes. Ask for a Tour Adviser tax invoice when you confirm.

Ready to plan Sikkim?

Message Tour Adviser on WhatsApp with your dates and arrival city. We will suggest a realistic Gangtok, North Sikkim, or Pelling plan and a clear cab fare before you travel.
