MG Marg travel guide

What it is. MG Marg (Mahatma Gandhi Marg) is Gangtok’s main promenade, lined with cafes, shops and restaurants. It is a good place to walk in the evening and a convenient base for hotels.

Best time to visit. March to June and September to November give the clearest views. Winters are cold and may bring snow at higher places. See the best time to visit Sikkim.

Where to eat and shop. Try momos, thukpa and local tea, and look for Sikkimese handicrafts and tea in the shops.
